Black magic and voodoo are often associated with each other. In reality, the use of black magic can be traced back to the time of the ancient Egyptians and Persians. Today, it is often associated with the powers of Satan and evil. Is there any to evidence to support this claim?
First, one must establish if the entity of Satan is real. This diabolical creature is believed to be real in certain religions, particularly in certain forms of Christianity. However, it is hard to find scientific evidence that this entity even exists.
In addition, although in the past black magic has been associated with such feats as raising people from the dead, curses and even learning secrets of other planets including Venus and Mars, there is not much in the way of true evidence to support any of these allegations.
Voodoo Black Magic Spells
One of the best known spells attributed to Voodoo and black magic is that of turning people into zombies. This is said to be accomplished by people who are known to be a bokor or boko. According to Rosemary Ellen Guiley, author of Harper’s Encyclopedia of Mystical & Paranormal Experience, a boko is an individual who is involved with sorcery and is “one who serves the loa with both hands.”
Loas are sprits which represent the religion of Voodoo. Are Zombies Real? takes a closer look at the real world of zombies, versus the Hollywood depiction.
Voodoo Love Spells
Contrary to the belief that voodoo is only associated with sticking pins in dolls to create physical harm to individuals or curses that will devastate a person’s life, today’s voodoo is much more about expanding love. Do love spells really work? That depends on what one believes in their religious structure. Although science cannot validate these type of claims, followers of the Voodoo religion truly believe that love spells can work. Spells can consist of rituals, incantations and more.
Can someone raise a person from the dead? There is no evidence to support this. Can an individual place a curse on another person? Sure they can, but will it work? Am I Cursed? should be able to answer that question.
Black magic dates backs many centuries ago as does the Voodoo religion although originally, the two had no association with each other. Many claims have been made with both black magic and voodoo, although many of these claims are unable to be validated as true.
