If planning a European trip, here is information on the Eurozone including attractions, must see places and tips for travelers.

From its ancient sites to its quirky museums, there is much to see in the Eurozone. This travel guide introduces unique locations as well to help plan the best European vacation.

Travel Destinations in Europe

See where one of the world’s most brilliant composers resided at Mozart’s Birthplace, the top attraction in Salzburg, Austria. Also in Austria is the magnificent St. Stephen’s Cathedral which makes its home in Vienna.

The most beloved attraction in Brussels, Belgium is Mannekin Pis. Most people would know this as the statue of the little boy urinating. When in Belgium, don’t forget to try the chocolate.

If traveling to Cyprus, a visit to the ancient city of Salamis is recommended. Located near Famagusta, visitors can view such ruins as the amphitheater and Roman baths.

While in Estonia, take a trip to Tallinn and enjoy a walking tour of the Old Town with its centuries old buildings. Don’t forget to stop by St. Olav’s church. Views are great from the top.

Great European Vacations

Visit the maritime fortress known as Suomenlinna Fortress in Finland which has museums, shopping and a variety of dining options.

No trip to France would be complete without a visit to Paris. Climb the Eiffel Tower and visit The Louvre, which has some of the most famous artwork in the world which includes the Mona Lisa, The Last Supper and Venus de Milo.

Be sure to enjoy a crepe from a street vendor and to those who are Disney fans, Disneyland Paris is made of two theme parks. One is Disneyland Park and the other is Walt Disney Studios Park. There is also Disney Village which includes Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show. For evening entertainment in Paris, take in the show at the Moulin Rouge.

Germany is known for its castles. A cruise up the Rhine River will provide travelers with views of many of Germany’s historic castles. If wanting to visit a castle in person, the most popular one is Neuschwanstein Castle which Walt Disney used as his inspiration for Sleeping Beauty’s Castle in Disneyland.

Things to do in Europe

Of course the Acropolis is the outstanding destination in Athens, Greece. Add to that Mount Olympus, which is the reported home of the Greek god Zeus. If time and finances allow, a cruise of the Greek Isles is suggested. If looking to relax and have a drink, try Ouzo. This is a classic Greek drink that smells and tastes a lot like black licorice.

Ireland is known for four leaf clovers and leprechauns. For a one of a kind experience, visit the National Leprechaun Museum in Dublin.

A must see in Rome, Italy is the Colosseum. If visiting for the first time, don’t be surprised at all of the feral cats which reside there. Here is a word of caution to travelers. Beware of pick pockets. To experience the romantic side of Italy, take a gondola ride down the canals of Venice.

When traveling to Luxembourg, a tour of Bock Casemates, a series of underground passageways located in Luxembourg City, is recommended.

History lovers should quite enjoy the ancient walled city of Mdina in Malta. Ruins include the Mdina Dungeons.

Travel Tips for Europe

Known for its party hostels, Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, is a particular favorite among younger travelers. Beer lovers should try the Heineken Experience. However, a much more somber side can be found at the Anne Frank House in which Frank and others hid from the Germans during World War II. This is where she wrote her famous diary.

One of the world’s largest aquariums is located in Lisbon, Portugal. Guests can enjoy quite a unique experience with Sleeping with the Sharks, an overnight adventure located at Oceanário de Lisboa.

Healing spas are popular in Slovakia. Compared to other European countries, English is not spoken as much here. Bratislava has a lot of great places to eat at very reasonable costs.

Nature lovers will find the country of Slovenia to be paradise. There are numerous lakes, forests, waterfalls and caves to enjoy.

When traveling to Spain, a visit to Torremolinos should be included. Take in the sun at the beach during the day, but be cautious of jelly fish. There are numerous nightclubs to be enjoyed at night. Nearby is the city of Malaga which offers wonderful horse drawn carriage rides.
