New Orleans, also known as The Big Easy, is known for Mardi Gras, jazz music, world-famous food, and Louisiana voodoo. It's also known for something else. New Orleans is one of the most haunted cities in the United States. If planning a trip to New Orleans, think about staying at one of it's scary haunted hotels.
The Haunted Bourbon Orleans Hotel
Located in the French Quarter is the historic Bourbon Orleans Hotel. Some of the spirits said to haunt the hotel include a pirate, a young women, a nun, and a confederate soldier. It is not uncommon for guests to hear the sound of children crying as the hotel rests on land that used to be home to an orphanage. If staying there don't be fooled be the haunted piano. Its really just a player piano.
The Haunted Le Pavillon Hotel
One of the most glamorous hotels in all of New Orleans is the Le Pavillon Hotel. The hotel rests on land that was originally owned by Sieur de Bienvilla, who was the founder of New Orleans. Paranormal investigators have found the presences of a male and female couple, along with a young man wearing a dark suit.
There is also the spirit of a teenage girl who is believed to have died nearby. Her name is thought to be Eva, Ava, or Aida. If staying at the Le Pavillon Hotel and a sudden cold spot is felt, you may have just met one of the resident spirits!
Haunted Dauphine Orleans Hotel

Several spirits are said to haunt the hotel. Two of the most frequently seen apparitions are a soldier from the War of 1812 and a young female who loves to dance. Guest have reported objects moving in Suite 111, while Suite 110 is also reportedly haunted.
Haunted Omni Royal Orleans Hotel
The Omni Royal Orleans Hotel is an award winning hotel in the French Quarter. It lies on the original site of Maspero's Slave Exchange. Haunted by the spirit of a former maid, heat, air conditioning, and faucets are said to turn on and off by themselves.
Don't worry if the phone rings and no one is on the other end. Its a common occurrence at this ghostly hotel. Room 227 is particularly haunted and most guests won't stay in the room more than one night.
The Haunted St. Pierre Hotel in New Orleans
There is something very unique about the St. Pierre Hotel. It is actual made up of slave quarters, houses, and other buildings that have been moved from other locations in the french quarter. Two known spirits are said to reside there. One is a Civil War Confederate soldier who haunts one of the slave quarters, the other is of a man who seems to be between forty-five and fifty years old. Phenomena experienced at the hotel include object moving by themselves, and the television changing channels.
If not afraid of being scared, think about staying at a haunted hotel when traveling to New Orleans. While there, don't forget to experience the food, music, and Louisiana voodoo when visiting one of the most haunted cities in America.
