Although some boys still enjoy having a party at home, others like to go to a location with a fun activity. Here's a look at some different ideas for planning a party for 12- to 14-year-old boys.
Video Game Party
The majority of boys at this age love to play video games. Rent some multi-player games, such as racing games, and let the kids compete. A tournament can even be held with the winner receiving a gift card to a local game rental store.
Try to avoid any kind of sticky food as no one likes a sticky controller. Food ideas include pizza, chips, popcorn, hot dogs, corn dogs, and hamburgers. Get some plain cupcakes and let everyone decorate their own.

Boys can show off some of their best skateboarding tricks with a skateboard party. Check to see if there are any local skateboard parks in the area. Be sure that protective gear is worn at all times. Rock Climbing Party Idea
For kids who enjoy engaging in physical activities, an indoor rock climbing facility can make for a great birthday party location. Be sure that kids bring helmets. Often, indoor rock climbing companies can put together a birthday party package for the birthday kid.
Go Cart Parties
At this age, kids start to look forward to the time when they can learn to drive. A go cart party allows for kids to get the feel of what race car driving is like, although done in a safe atmosphere.
