Looking for something unusual to do in Oahu? Ready to get scared? How about taking a ghost tour?

The Orbs of Oahu is a ghost tour which takes guests to some of the most haunted locations in the southern part of the island of Oahu. This is a nighttime driving tour which lasts about 4-4.5 hours.

Stops include Kapena Falls, Pali Lookout, (site of the battle where King Kamehameha defeated the Oahu army by driving them over the cliff,) Morgan's Corner, and Monoa Chinese Cemetery, the largest Chinese cemetery in Hawaii.

The tour is led by local Uncle Joe, a colorful storyteller, well-versed in the history of Oahu. Before boarding the vans for this eerie tour, Uncle Joe makes sure that everyone is handed some salt and instructs guests to keep the salt on them at all times during the tour for protection against evil spirits.

Haunted Morgan's Corner

Morgan's Corner, named after Dr. James Morgan who resided there, is claimed to be one of the most haunted locations in all of Hawaii. There are many different stories associated with the site. On the Orbs of Oahu ghost tour, Uncle Joe tells the story of Therese Wilder.

Therese Wilder was the 68-year-old neighbor of Dr. Morgan. One night two escaped convicts beat Wilder to death and then hung her up. Many people have seen the ghost of a woman at the site and this ghost is believed to be that of Therese Wilder.

Manoa Chinese Cemetery

Although to some people it would be unimaginable to visit a haunted cemetery at night, there is a completely different feel to the Monoa Chinese Cemetery. This cemetery is home to a huge, old Banyan tree which is said to contain a vortex, (door,) to the "other side."

Guests are invited to step inside the Banyan tree which is supposedly home to the spirits of many children. Some people report sensing these children, while others actually experience the ghost of a child taking their hand.

This is definitely a unique photo opportunity and many orbs have been captured on film. Most guests feel very calm and serene during this part of the tour.

The Orbs of Oahu is one of three haunted tours provided by Oahu Ghost Tours. Other tours include Honolulu City Haunts, a walking tour of supernatural locations in downtown Honolulu and Sacred Spirits, which takes guests to some of the most sacred Native Hawaiian locations in Oahu.

This tour can be very intense for some people. Caution is taken particularly for children and this tour isn't recommended for children under the age of ten. However, while some adults almost seem to achieve a state of panic, some children go through the tour without a care in the world. It really comes down to what each individual personally experiences.
