Planning a Halloween party for adults? Here are some ideas for Halloween cocktails and party appetizers, along with invitation suggestions.

The first step to planning a Halloween cocktail party is to choose invitations. Be sure the invitations reflect this is a cocktail party, versus just a Halloween party. This way, people who prefer to avoid alcohol will have the option of not attending. It also lets people who have children know that it’s time to hire a baby sitter. Invitation ideas include:

  • haunted house
  • skeleton
  • witch on a broomstick
  • Fright Night
  • corpse
  • spiders
  • red devil

Just be sure that invitations are sent two to three weeks in advance to be sure that party goers know about the spooktacular event you will be hosting. Depending on the day of the week Halloween falls on, it’s best to throw the party on the Friday or Saturday night closest to Halloween.

Halloween Alcoholic Drinks

A great Bloody Mary would top this list. In fact, drinks that reflect the colors of Halloween such as red, (for blood,) orange and black make good choices. Consider serving a Red Devil, Cosmopolitan, Hurricane or Strawberry Margarita, which could be renamed Icy Blood. If wanting to go with a party punch, create a good rum punch and give it a Halloween theme name such as Witches' Brew or Blood Punch.

If wanting more of a black cocktail, try a Black Martini. Of course, a Screwdriver can reflect an orange cocktail as can a Mimosa or Sex on the Beach. The next step is how you want to serve your drinks. You can use cocktail glasses from home or pick up some disposable plastic Halloween drink holders from a party store. Don’t forget to consider serving Jello shooters.

Halloween Appetizer Ideas

Food must be included in a Halloween cocktail party. A popular appetizer is pigs in a blanket which can be renamed as Bloody Fingers. Another idea is to make stuffed deviled eggs, with a slice of olive on top. This can be called Eye of the Newt.

Pick any popular appetizer or main course, but give it a new name to fit a Halloween theme. For example, serve salsa and chips, but call it Blood, Guts & Chips. To keep costs down, cook spaghetti, place servings in individual cups and call them Bloody Intestines.

Prefer something more upscale? Wine tasting can be enjoyed throughout the year. If wanting to host a wine tasting party, more information can be found in the article Home Wine Tasting Party Ideas and Tips.

Adult Halloween Parties

Bring on the decorations! Think spider webs, jack-o-lanterns, witches and more. Since this is an adult party, consider the option of hiring a person who can read Tarot cards. It is believed by some that these cards can tell the past, present and future. It would definitely add a creepy factor to the atmosphere of the party.

A Halloween costume contest would be fun. This way, everyone attending would get the chance to show off their attire. The best costume prize could be some kind of a trophy or gag gift, or could be a more serious gift such as movie tickets, a gift certificate to a local restaurant or a Halloween gift basket.

Music is a part of any party and can really set the mood. Scary Halloween Songs and Music – Horror Music offers suggestions for party music.

Adult Halloween cocktail parties can be loads of fun. When planning one, start by finding the right invitations, and then be sure that cocktails and food match the holiday theme. If by any chance you're planning on decorating outside for your event, Halloween Outdoor Decor – Halloween Yard Decorations offers suggestions.

My girlfriend and I are going to a special Halloween party. She is going as a Greek goddess while I am going as Adam without a fig leaf. The party theme will be that all the women will dress as strong women such as an Amazon (without a breast being exposed) or Cleopatra or a strong Queen while males all have to dress as Adam without the fig leaf and remain that way throughout the party. In planning the party, it was the males who suggest the women dress as goddesses since we know women are superior to us males and by the males being naked, it would indicate we males are far inferior to the women in that we do not deserve to even be dressed in front of them. My girlfriend has two sisters who will be going too as one of the rules state that each male has to have 2 or 3 women with him.

We have seen some talk about these type of parties where any part of a body that is not covered can be touched by the other sex. Of course, this means women can touch our dicks and balls but we can't touch their breast or other parts as the women have to remain dressed although the males are naked. Of course, if younger kids (say 10 to 18) are allowed, no touching will be allowed but it is our understanding that only adults will be there so anything goes. Well almost anything. In another article, it was mentioned that the males had a tug of war using only their nuts but I do not think we have the balls for that event, not just yet anyway. We all have however agreed that if any male is disrespectful to a woman, she has the right to kick him in the nuts in front of everyone.

Everyone is looking forward to this party but I have a feeling the women are going to enjoy it much more then we males but then why shouldn't they? Women are the superior sex anyway!
