Graduation parties are a great way to celebrate students' accomplishments in school. Here are graduation party tips to help plan the perfect celebration.

Most parties are fun to begin with, but adding a theme give it an extra special touch. A themed graduation party can be easy to put together and make the party that much more fun. The hardest part is to take the first step and select a theme.

Themed Party Ideas

A themed party can be as simple or elaborate as the host chooses it to be. Simple themes for a graduation party can involve decorations that congratulate the graduate, such as a banner, streamers, and centerpiece, along with graduation balloons and matching tablewear.

The usual colors to go along with this theme are black and white. Invitations could either be made to look like graduation caps or diplomas. Another simple idea is to have the theme based on the school's colors and mascot.

Be sure to have pictures of the school and various school events that took place over the time spent in school. For fun, put up a poster board and let everyone write something on it whether it just be signing it or writing down their favorite school memory.

Party Theme Idea

After having to spend so much being serious while cramming for finals, how about reliving the days when life was just fun with a cartoon party? The theme could revolve around one particular cartoon character such as Scooby Doo or SpongeBob or could consist of a variety of beloved cartoon characters.

There are a lot of great cartoon CDs on the market which would work great for background music, at least for part of the party. If wanting to play any games, try cartoon trivia. If there are any show offs in the group, challenge them to act out their favorite cartoon character and be sure to get it on film.

Mardi Gras Party Theme

Mardi Gras is all about celebrating and having fun. Think jazz music and Cajun food. Decorations should be bright and festive. Be sure to get colored beads for everyone to wear. For those who are interested, set up a mask making station as masks are very popular during Mardi Gras.

Get some plain masks, along with lots of decorations such as feathers, glitter, and sequins. Be sure to have enough glue on hand. A mask making contest can even take place with students voting on their favorite mask, with a prize given out to the winner.

Beach Themed Party

The end of school means the beginning of summer so how about a party with a beach theme? Guests can dress in beach type attire. Decorations can be based on seashells, beach balls, and flip flops. Of course, everyone should get their own pair of plastic neon sunglasses.

Beach Boy music is a must! Have some water guns on hand. Even though students are all grown up now, they'll still have a great time having a water gun fight. Invitations could either look like a pair of flip flops or a shovel and pail. Considering a pool party? Further information can be found in the article Teen Pool Party Ideas.

Having a theme for a graduation party adds some extra fun for a special celebration. How elaborate the theme gets depends on how far a person wants to go with the theme and how much money is in the budget. The main idea is to add something extra to a graduation to help students celebrate a very special day.
