The Disney Wonder is one of the most spectacular ocean liners in the world. Stepping onto the ship transports the cruise passenger from daily life on the mainland into all of the magic that Disney is known for. Disney Wonder Food
Ranging from casual to fine dining, there's no shortage of eating opportunities on Disney Wonder. Casual dining includes Pinocchio's Pizzeria and Pluto's Dog House. Fans of buffets can enjoy the breakfast and lunch buffet at the Beach Blanket Buffet.
For fine dining, kids will marvel at Animator's Palate. When guests arrive, all the etchings on the wall are black and white. By the time the meal is over, these etchings transpire into full color portraits of favorite Disney characters. There are also two additional fine dining restaurants that guests will rotate to during the cruise.
For adults who would like an Italian culinary treat, reservations can be made at Palo. Although all meals, including room service, are included in the cost of the cruise, there is a small surcharge for Palo. Walt Disney would never allow alcohol to be served at any of the restaurants in Disneyland, but alcoholic beverages can be found on Disney cruises. Take caution, however, because the costs of the drinks can add up quickly and many guests don't pay attention since the drinks are added to their onboard accounts.
Disney Wonder Cruise Activities
Disney does a great job of offering plenty of fun activities for families. There are three freshwater pools onboard including Goofy's pool and Mickey's pool, featuring a fun water slide. Adults can spend some relaxing time at the Quiet Cove Pool.
Various activities take place throughout the day in different areas of the ship. Kids can meet their favorite Disney characters at character greetings where they can even get their autographs. Guests can partake in onboard games like Disney trivia, then hang out with more Disney characters at a deck party.
Adults can get pampered at the spa, (at an extra cost,) while kids hang out at one of the age appropriate, adult supervised youth clubs. For parents with young children, child care is available from three months old and up.
Entertainment on the Disney Wonder
Disney presents Broadway style shows starring favorite characters like Mickey and Minnie Mouse including Disney Dreams — An Enchanted Classic and the Golden Mickeys. First run movies can be seen and there's fun for kids and adults alike at different lounges around the ship with certain lounges only accessible to adults at night like Cadillac Lounge, where guests car be treated to a piano bar, or for a more lively time, Waveband, where music, dancing, and karaoke are offered.
Disney Wonder Shore Excursions
As with any cruise, shore excursions are available for an extra charge. An exception to this is Castaway Cay which is a stop on any of the Bahamas cruises. At Disney's private island, guests can swim, snorkel or go hiking, to name just a few activities. A barbeque lunch is served and guests have a choice of areas to hang out in such as the family area, kids area, teen area, and adults only section.
Disney cruises offers some exciting shore excursions such as dolphin encounters, scuba diving, catamaran sails, and local tours. The excursions are all topnotch, although they can be expensive, particularly for large families. Should a shore excursion not be in the budget, guests can still go ashore and find plenty of things to do on their own.
A Disney Wonder Cruise will keep young and old entertained and well fed, while offering fun for the whole family. Pricier than other cruise lines, most guests don't mind spending the extra money to submerge themselves in the magic of Disney.
