When traveling to San Diego, pet owners can breath a sigh of relief as San Diego is home to many pet friendly hotels. Here's a look at some accommodations for people's furry friends.

Pet Friendly Hotels in Downtown San Diego Near the San Diego Zoo

Dogs up to fifty pounds can be completely pampered at the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego. The hotel features a pet floor on the tenth floor which includes a grassy area for dogs. The fee is $30 per night and includes a pet bowl, pet biscuit, toy, and pet privacy sign.

Sheraton Hotels are known world-wide for being pet friendly. At Sheraton Suite San Diego, dogs up to eighty pounds can relax and sleep soundly in a Sweet Sleeper Dog Bed. The hotel charges no fees for accommodating dogs. The Westin Gaslamp Quarter also charges no fees and welcomes dogs up to fifty pounds. Amenities include dog beds and bowls.

The U.S. Grant provides dishes and beds to dogs under forty pounds for a one time $150 cleaning fee. The Residence Inn by Marriott San Diego allows both dogs and cats and has a grass area for taking pets for a walk. There is a $75 non-refundable fee for the full length of stay.

Although there are no special amenities, Porto Vista Hotel & Suites takes both dogs and cats. One pet under forty pounds is permitted per room and the fee is $25 per night.

Pet Friendly Hotels Near the San Diego Airport

Often when people fly, they prefer to stay in a hotel near the airport. Fortunately for pet owners, there are a few hotels near the San Diego Airport which will take pets. The Vagabond Inn-Point Loma will take both dogs and cats for a $20 per night fee.

At the Kona Kai Resort Spa & Marina, pet owners are allowed one dog or one cat under twenty-five pounds per room. There is a $75 non-refundable fee. A park is conveniently located across the street. Just like the Sheraton in downtown San Diego, the Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina welcomes dogs up to eighty pounds at no fee. Free doggie beds are provided.

Pet Friendly Hotels Near Sea World in San Diego

The Heritage Inn will allow any kind of small pets for $10 per day or $50 per week. It is close to a dog beach where dogs can run leash free. Best Western Mission Bay Inn will also accept any kind of small pet for $15 per pet per night.

The Ocean Villa Inn is the only hotel on the beach that accepts dogs. In addition, the hotel also takes cats. There is a $25 one time fee. The hotel provides a dog washing station so pet owners can rinse off their dogs after frolicking at the beach.

Not only is there an array of fun things to do in San Diego, but pet owners should have no difficulty in finding comfortable lodgings for their beloved pets. Be sure to check with the hotel or travel agency for current rates and policies.
